Micah Rubenstein was
an Associate Professor of Music for 14 years at Kenyon
College in Gambier, Ohio, where he taught theory,
composition, orchestration, History of Jazz, American
Musical Theater and Holocaust Studies. While at Kenyon,
he helped to found their American Studies program,
and wrote music for the CBS News television series,
American Originals.
As a graduate of Poly Prep and Brown University and
a recipient of a Watson Foundation Traveling Fellowship,
his "great books" liberal arts education
eventually led him out of academia and into publishing
where he served as Managing Editor for Wisdom Media
Group, the leading producer and broadcaster of television,
radio and internet programming in the conscious living
genre.
Currently he teaches at the Universities of New Hampshire,
Central Ohio Technical College, and Columbus State
Community College. He is committed to public education.
He has given over 100 radio interviews on the topic
of The Holocaust and the Human Spirit, served as a
panelist at the 27th Annual Conference on the Holocaust
and the Churches, and has lectured throughout the
US and Canada.
An accomplished pianist and composer, Micah has given
recitals of his own and others' music in the United
States, Germany and Austria. For the past seven years,
he has served as Executive Director for Food For The
Hungry, his county's annual food drive, and during
that time raised over one million dollars and 375
truckloads of food.
The constant threads running throughout Micah's varied
career are service above self, and a desire to put
positive messages out in the world that inspire people
to live life more consciously.
